How do i keep my face oil free?

ive tried using powder, shine free face lotion, and face wash.

my skin gets really oily but it also peels if i dont use lotion or if i use anything for dry skin.

i need a way to keep my face oil free that wont take off my makeup.. someone help me plz?
How do i keep my face oil free?
first, wash your face with an oil control facial wash no more than TWO times a day. over washing will strip your face of the required moisture and cause your skin to produce more sebum. include a good astringent in your daily skin care routine. astringents do everything a toner do and also helps to control sebum production. get a good oil control and hydrating moisturiser for your face. never touch any products that are meant for dry skin, not even when parts of your skin are dry to the extent of peeling. find a hydrating oil control moisturiser. you may also like to invest in good facial masks (be it tissue masks, peel off masks or wash off masks) that helps to control sebum production. lastly, carry a facial blotter with your wherever you go to blot off the excess sebum whenever you need to. clean and clear has a good one.

Clean and Clear makes oil absorbing sheets that work great. You can use them throughout the day and they won't take off your foundation or powder. They blot up excess oil and leave your skin looking shine-free.
Reply:oil blotting tissues work well and won't mess up your make-up...you can find these at your local drugstore/target. the body shop and sephora also sells them.
Reply:You can use 4 things, a Starbuck's napkin, a toilet seat cover that you get in bathrooms, or blotting papers that you can purchase at drugstores and department stores. But my favorite to use is the fine tissue paper that you get when you buy something from a nice store.

It's such a waste of paper otherwise, so I love using them. They don't cost you extra and they work. Whenever I get oily in the summer, or put on too much moisturizer I tear off a strip from the paper and pat where I need it. It really doesn't take your makeup off and it leaves you looking matte but not dried up. The effect lasts for a while on me, but it depends on how oily your skin is. Just tear off a few strips and throw it in your purse.
Reply:The best thing to do is to change your diet that is usually a major cause. Also try talking to a dermatologist they could give you better help.
Reply:dont touch it. that really helps.
Reply:wash it every night with soap or use proactive!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Try washing with a cleanser designed for oily skin at morning and at night. Get the moisturizer to match, too. Most people don't know this, but ALL skin needs to be moisturized or you'll wind up all splotchy and what not. Neutrogena is pretty decent and I've heard good things about Clean and Clear's skin care.

I personally love those oil blotter thingies..they're fantastic.

On a side note, stop using any anti-aging stuff you might have. That stuff isn't for oily skin and at this point will simply clog your pores even more.

My face: to wash or not to wash?

I've been getting EXTREMELY dry skin on my face, mostly around my mouth and chin... but I also have pimples (a whole crop on my forehead). I talked to someone and they said I should just wash my face once a day instead of morning and night, but I wear makeup... it probably isn't a good idea to sleep with makeup on if I have zits. Should I just say "screw it" and wash my face tonight and moisturize and hope my skin isn't going to flake and peel forever?
My face: to wash or not to wash?
Continue to wash your face morning and night. But apply an oil free moisturizer in the morning before you put your makeup on. Exfoliate with a gentle scrub 2 or 3 times a week. Since you wear makeup, make sure it is hypoallergenic and oil free. Also, wash your brushes once a week with a mild soap (I use a couple drops of my face cleanser). Good Skin from Kohl's is a really good line of products. I use the basic cleanser and moisturizer for combination skin. Check it out and see if its for you!
My face: to wash or not to wash?
USE HONEY TO MOiSTURiZE YOUR FACE.
Reply:try aveda skin line it is wonderful it is like 30 bucks for the whole set I LOVE IT
Reply:Use pro active.
Reply:Wash ur face in morning and at night but put on some special cream and face washers.
Reply:start this remedy. seriously.

Reply:Wash your face, but don't moisturize. Chances are that your face is already naturally oiled enough (hence the acne), so if you add moisturizers before bed it could clog pores and cause breakouts. Try a soap with moisturizers already in it.
Reply:Iam a proactive person.. it works
Reply:Use Oxy Pads, that way you can isolate where your skin comes in contact with the cleanser, however keep in mind, Pimples can be caused by dry skin, so perhaps instead of washing it moisturize.
Reply:Wash your face morning and night, but find a better skin care system than you're using now....
Reply:Use Cetaphil to "wash" your face. You can use to just remove your makeup with a tissue, or rinse it off like you would a cleanser. It'll keep your face from drying out. And then use a toner on your forehead that has salicylic acid to help with the breakouts.
Reply:Always wash before bed to get rid of the make up and dirt from the day. Try skipping the morning scrub and see what happens.
Reply:That sounds like a bad idea! Why get rid of washing your face? Instead, be careful in choosing your makeup and skincare items You obviously have sensitive skin. You may also try this product I'm using-- Cover Girl advanced radiance lotion sample. Here's where you can find more details http://www.upkb.com/covergirl.php
Reply:apply moisturizer!!! tat helps..after a few days or so ya..gd luck!
Reply:Why not just wash your face at night?

Or use moist make up wipes to take it off, that way you won't be actually washing your face twice but still removing gunk and you can give it a proper wash in the morning.

Make sure to change your pillowcase often (especially if you are washing your face less) because there will be oils, bacteria and stuff that will stay on it and transfer to your clean face.

Your skin has probably got dry because of the harshness of the proactive, i'm not sure what can be done about that, sorry. I had the same thing happen to me, only I used it for years and my skin is REALLY bad. It went from oily and spotty to unbelievably dry and spotty. This is harder imo because you need to find a balance between getting rid of spots and not over-drying your skin and yet keeping it moisturised.

Best of luck and just steer clear of any harsh acne medications.

Mineral makeup is also good for your skin, you might want to look into that. You can sleep with it on.
Reply:u should go back to proactive, but while using it try a good night %26amp; day mosturizer.

{this is a really good skin care product w/ mousturizers!}
Reply:Sweetie you need to switch over to natural products!! ... i swear but Tahitian Noni... i use to have really bad acne myself and it was terrifying..i started with proactive but it my demeretologist told me it was bad for me plus it wouls leave my face dry and tried looking... so i switched to Tahitian Noni, its all natural... and it leave you face smooth, it removes acne and the natural oil leaves your face feeling healthy so you dont have to wear make up because your skin is always glowing and radiant..trust me i get compliments on my skin now! .. hope this helps..email me if anything at franchescamichele@yahoo check out all the products at www.tni.com/zmwright

good luck
Reply:Never ever wear make up at night! That is the worst thing you could do. It will lead to premature aging and all of that fun stuff. Always wash your face twice a day with a gentle face wash (maybe go speak to a dermatologist to see what he recommends) and use a moisturizer made specifically for blemish prone skin. I recommend Neutrogena.
Reply:use sopfree face wash. use glycolic skin tonner

I put too much A&D on my tattoo, now its flaking and looks faded, can this be ruined permanently?

I got the tattoo two weeks ago and after the second day i went back and the guy said i used too much a%26amp;d ointment and to stop and only use moisturizer. Well two weeks later now it is peeling off and all the moisturizer in the world aint helping. The underneath looks faded but feels like normal skin, whereas the unpeeled areas feel like a scab or something hard like that. Did i ruin my tat for life?

I have 2 tattoo's and it sounds exactly what mine did. I used the A%26amp;D ointment for about a week. I probably used too much also but once it got dry it would start itching. After a week or so the scab will start flaking off, especially in the shower and when you are drying off. Don't pick at it, just let it heal by itself. The tattoo does cause a huge scab to form over the area so don't worry about that part. And, think of it this way, if it does get messed up in areas you can always go back and have them filled in. I had a purple rose put on my shoulder and 2 years later had another purple rose put on my lower back. Even after all that time they were able to match the color exactly. They will be able to fix anything you could have done to it.

Go back again %26amp; ask the guy that gave you the tat.
Reply:sometimes you have to have a tatoo recolored because it didn't take well... I wouldn't say it is ruined forever. Many tatoo artists will recolor their art work as a complimentary service
Reply:Well you probably stopped the ink from drying into your skin...which is what it's meant to do. You haven't ruined it and a scab is usual but if you think that it is faded then you can just go and have it recoloured in a month or so. You really should have looked into getting a tattoo before getting one.
Reply:oh dear - the ink should have been deep enough for this not to happen - I agree with the first answerer - you should discuss it with the person who did it.
Reply:If you put too much ointment on the tat and had it almost drippy/goey you may have caused some of the color to leach out. Just don't pick at the scabs or you will pull out the color. Depending on where the tattoo is and if the guy that did it is a good artist or not, it could cause it to fade a lot.

Thats why there are touchups! Any artist that stands behind their work will gladly touch up a tattoo for free within the first month of doing it. If you used too much A%26amp;D then he didn't give you detailed enough aftercare instructions.

For future reference - only use A%26amp;D the first day and then an unscented lotion until the scabs come off.

Ph i dont get?

Monochloroacetic acid, HC2H2ClO2, is a skin irritant that is used in "chemical peels" intended to remove the top layer of dead skin from the face and ultimately improve the complexion. The value of Ka for monochloroacetic acid is 1.35 10-3. Calculate the pH of a 0.21 M solution of monochloroacetic acid.
Ph i dont get?
do this one the same way as the one I answered before

# of moles times Ka. take square root of that, then, take -log of that and u got urself a pH. If u need OH value just substract that number from 14. these problems are actually easy once u start getting it

Obsession with picking..?

Ok so im 17 and ever since I can remember..maybe about 13 or so..i've had this obsession with picking my skin. I pick mainly at my lips till theyre all sore and bleeding a bit, and I also pick between and around my thumb area till its kind of sore..2 more places I pick at are my toes at the bottom (really gross!..just the big toe) till its almost bleeding and really sore, and the skin around my finger nails which I peel backwards..I can't stop myself from this! Ive tried and I just end doing it agin and I don't know why,,I won't even realize im doing it sometimes..how can I stop this and what causes me to do this?..I don't think its nervousness b/c I can be watching tv alone and i'll start picking at myself..Help!
Obsession with picking..?
Well, I am 24, and have a similar problem. I actually bite my nails, then pick in a similar manner. The only thing I have found that is at all effective is to replace the behavior with something else. For me, since I bite my nails, I have to chew on the end of a pen, or chew gum. For you, it will be keeping you hands busy. Find a simple hobby that you do with your hands, and try replace picking your skin with that hobby. Good luck!
